Asa's broken arm
Asa broke his arm on Sunday while wrestling with Andrew at my mom's house. His face in this pic shows how he feels about it. Mama loves you, man!

A funny for the day
Little Susie was not the best student in Catholic School . Usually she slept through the class.
One day her teacher, a Nun, called on her while she was sleeping.
'Tell me Susie, who created the universe?'
When Susie didn't stir, little Johnny who was her friend sitting behind her,
took his pencil and jabbed her in the rear.
'God Almighty!' shouted Susie.
The Nun said, 'Very good' and continued teaching her class.
A little later the Nun asked Susie, 'Who is our Lord and Savior?'
But Susie didn't stir from her slumber. Once again, Johnny came to her
rescue and stuck her in the butt.
'Jesus Christ!!!' shouted Susie.
And the Nun once again said, 'Very good,' and Susie fell back asleep..
The Nun asked her a third question...'What did Eve say to Adam after she had
her twenty-third child?'
Again, Johnny came to the rescue.. This time Susie jumped up and shouted,
'If you stick that damn thing in me one more time, I'll break it in half!'
The nun fainted!

Words from Jeff Foxworthy
I LOVE Jeff Foxworthy. He is hilarious to me! However I never expected anything profound to come from his lips. But yesterday in the Parade magazine, there was an interview of him. And I LOVE what he said about children and God. Here is it:
"The most important lesson I have learned from my own kids is that they have given me a small glimpse of how God must feel about us. You know, your spouse is capable of doing something where you wouldn't love him or her anymore, but your kids aren't. It doesn't mean you don't get angry or frustrated with them, but you cannot NOT love them. They're an awesome gift. And I kind of think that's how God looks at us, like, "Oh, good grief, you are so stupid, you're driving me crazy, but I still love you."

words of wisdom from a fellow blogger
A dear friend of mine shared this with me today from another blog. I take no credit for the words of wisdom.
"Here is a bible verse that has been speaking to me lately and I thought I would share.
...but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead. Philippians 3:13
Do you ever have days of discontentment? I do. Especially today for some reason. I feel discontent staying at home...being bored, cleaning up messes. again. and again. and again. You know? I was reading my bible and came upon this verse and it hit me. hard. I am being discontent with my circumstances. If my circumstances were to change would I be happier? Probably not. I would still be discontent.
Forget the days that are behind you. You will never have them back {and believe me when I say, I don't want mine back!} Don't get stuck in what was. What good will that do? God wants us to move forward and live in the present not the past. Reach ahead. Press on. Be content where God has you now"
Powerful isn't it?

Conversation I overheard this morning
Luke: Do you think Mama and Daddy will let me get a dirt bike this year for Christmas?
Asa: I think we should ask for a four-wheeler.
Andrew: I don't think y'all are getting either. Did you know we are in a recession? Even Santa Claus is hurting!
omg! I laughed til I almost peed on myself!
Kids do say the darndest things!
