Really late Desk reveal

Well I finally finished the desk. The final step was the glass for the top. Got it today. I really love the way it turned out. It's in our entry, to the right of the door. I have a chair to put with it. Should I paint it the same blue? I think not. And then ill need fabric to cover the seat. Always a project going on....and thats just the way I like it.

Yay!!!!!!!

This is a super happy moment!!! After six weeks in a thigh cast, and four weeks in a boot and a week of physical therapy (so far)....Asa is finally walking and feeling oh so good about it! We are hoping he will be free of the last crutch in a week.

My Jackie O dress

I just love a deal. Even better when it's a fashionable one. Love, love, love this dress. Sooo "Jackie O"-ish!! A bit conservative for me but still. Every woman needs a classic in their wardrobe. Most have black. Mine is RED!!! Anyway after markdown, another 30% off and a $5 off

WRONG paint color

Why is it the paint dries perfectly on the swatch card at the store but dries terribly wrong at home??? I'm going to try a few more coats and if it doesn't get better then I'll be back at the painstaking store on Monday.

First Day of School 2010

Sooo, I along with three other moms, took a crew of kids to New Orleans to the aquarium and insectarium last Wednesday. It was the beginning of our


"Wacky Wednesdays" for the summer. anyway, I was dared to eat a chocolate covered cricket. And so I did. It wasn't too bad til the chocolate melted and then CRUNCH!!! Omg! Nasty!!! But atleast I tried it!

An interesting conversation

Sooo earlier this week, I was wondering if/when I was committed to sing at the Baptist church so I text Dr. J, the preacher and this is the conversation.

Me: Have I committed to any Sunday in May to sing?

Dr. J: Yes, this Sunday. Two songs. Can't wait to hear you.

Me: You are kidding, right?

Dr. J: Um, No, we talked about it. May 2. Two songs. You.

Me: Um, Ok, I can come up with something.

Dr. J: Good, cuz otherwise, we got nothin!


Yeah, its obvious that I am not with it these days. So glad I contacted him, otherwise this Baptist girl would have been a noshow and that would not have been good.

White shoes and a pedicure

There's nothing like a pedicure to make this girl's day. Now for the white shoes.....it's probably been 25 years since I owned a pair of white shoes---not including the white satin heels I wore with my wedding dress 18 years go. Ok, so anyway, I have always had a deep-seeded issue with white shoes. It's the little Baptist girl that was forced to wear white patent leather shoes with lacy socks. Omg the flashbacks!!!! So...fastforward 25 years or so and I bought a funky, super cool pair of white cork-wedge heels. And I wear them without bad memories of white shoes on a Sunday morning. Ha!

AARRGGHH!!!!!!

Well, superbitch has arrived! It's been ten days and I am still hurting. And I am sick of it! What's with it? "You should be back to normal in two or three days." What happend to that? OMG!!! I am seriously irritable as hell and can't cover it up. I'm tired of my leg hurting an I'm tire of being immobile and unable to do what I normally do. SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, I'll stop whining ... . . for now!

Life

Soooooooooo much going on. The past ten days have been a total blur to me. I feel as if I am in a fog. Granted, I was on pain killers for a few days however the feeling still lingers. I have no idea what is in store for my life, however I am clinging to the hope that it is all GOOD.

I was overwhelmed today with how wonderful my boys are. They are growing into awesome young gentlemen. How lucky am I to be their mother! And I have been equally overwhelmed at the help of Jimmy after my surgery. He has been amazing--helping me and also doing all the housework. And realizing just how much I do. He even said that I am underpaid. lol

I am just thinking outloud. . . .

Well it's only been a year but it is FINALLY coming together. What once was a screened-in-porch is now an entry and office. Painted all weekend and this is the entry. All is finished here except for the light fixture and flooring.

ok, sooooooooooooo the dress has abolutely noooo shape however doesn't look too bad on. i think i need to shorten the length of the tshirt and band. may work on that tomorrow. but i HATE to rip out a seam. ugh!! we'll see and no I will not stand in a boat to take a pic.

Feeling creative

So I am in the creative mood . . . gonna make my own version of this dress TONIGHT! chcck back tomorrow for the end result and if there is no pic, then you know it didn't come together as planned . . . which is highly likely! lol
