Pool days!

Summer means pool days.
Pool days to me mean "relaxing."
To my boys it means "wrestling in water."

Table redo--hallelujah!

Soooo the short story is....about five years ago while Christmas shopping with the girls in Hattiesburg, I fell in love with this black table....

I HAD to have it. LOVED it. It wS on clearance. Dear husband surprised me with it for Christmas. And I LOVED it ... For about a month. It showed dust like crazy. And being in the bay window where the sun blares in half the day, it stayed dirty. Sooo fast forward to this year when I decided to paint it cream. Wait..we never bought black chairs. And I love the look of non-matching chairs. Yeah, I'm weird like that. Matching chairs is way too "rule-following" for me. Anyway, I started the process about a month ago and got sick. However, I finished it Sunday and Voila!

Terrible dark pic. I'm sorry but this is what I cud get with my phone. You get the pix. I really like it and if it stats relatively clean and not dusty, or atleast not show the dust, I will be one happy girl.

(yeah I know, I said "short story" but I just can't ever do it)

Sometimes others say things I only wish I would have come up with myself

I'm not sure how I feel about this . . .

I am a huge proponent for breastfeeding . . the health benefits and bonding alone were enough to sway me not to mention the free food for the baby and convenience. Yes, I was one of those who just threw the baby in the bed with me in the middle of the night. The baby ate, I went back to sleep and all were happy!

But this lady, what is she thinking? I can't decide if I am impressed or not. I surely cannot stand on my head much less nurse at the same time. But seriously, who thinks of this stuff!!!!

Summer fun!

Andrew had a campout Thursday night. The boys fished and swam and enjoyed being boys. Obviously they are not afraid of snakes. You couldn't pay me to swim in the pond!!!

School is out!!!!!

I have to admit I am in a bit of denial....school is out for the summer!!!! Seriously??? Wasn't it just Christmas. My how time flies!!!!

Don't get me wrong, I love my boys more than life itself however they drove me ka-razeee last summer!!!! So I am bracing myself for more of the same.

So if you need me, I'll be outside in my hammock, drinking wine from a plastic cup....because I can't let them know I'm self-medicating at 10am!

Ok, seriously, here is a pic of my beautiful boys. I am so lucky to be their mom!!!

MUUUUCH better!!!

I Sooo did not like the "colorful frames" wall. It was too "romper-roomish.". I love the frames and texture but not all different colors. Soooo I moved the big mirror back to that wall and moved all the pics across the room to the right of the fireplace, above the side of the sofa. I like it better and think I can add pics to it.

Farm boys

This is typical of farm life. On the way home from school last Thursday, a heifer/steer (not sure which one) was out and on the side of the road. So I let the boys out. Yea, on the highway and they guided him back where he belongs.

They love the adventure! And it gives me plenty of pictures to scrapbook and stories to tell.

I LOVE SHOES

So its no secret to most of my friends, that I have a serious obsession with shoes. Seriously!!! I LOVE SHOES!! Nothing like a great pair of shoes to complete an outfit, make a woman feel super put together. So while perusing the internet today, I found these and oh my, it was love at first sight.

I MUST have these. Won't they look cool with a pair of jeans? Um, yes!!!!!

Then I found these . . . .

and these . . . .now who the hell wears these??????? I don't know!

But we all know who wears these!!!! Seriously, who designs shoes like this? lo!

I assure you these last ones will NOT be finding a place in my closet . . . unless I can convice dear hubby to fill them up for me. NOT!

Back door now covered

Since Jimmy HATES naked windows, I finally made a covering for the door. I wish I would have had more of the floral fabric to make a wider strip at the top but I did not. The fringe came from a thrift store. I have YARDS of it.

An afternoon adventure

With son #1, the cowboy. He asks me to "stand in the gate and not let the calf through." ok, I understood that to mean ONE calf, about 100 pounds. NOT 20 or 30 400 pound beasts!

So there I stood, staring down the ones I was NOT supposed to let through the gate. Little did he know, if it came down to it, and the calf challenged me, I was going to graciously step aside!!!!!

Soooo as I was doing my "job", the cowboy was shouting orders to me to move here, move there, not there, over there......thus throwing me back to being an 8 year old helping my daddy pen cows and never doing anything right. (love ya daddy! Lol)

However, even though there was absolutely no rhyme or reason to noah's sorting of the calves, I played right along and did my best (he even said I was a great help!).

He only complained once...about me taking pics.

And I only complained once ...about my now dirty toes and poop on my flip flops. These toes are too pretty to be working on the farm The cowboy owes me a pedicure!!!!

Side note: if you think having your child rub his snotty nose on you, just imagine being this poor steer and having your bovine friend crap all over you! I'll take the snotty nosed kid anyday....one of them grew up to be my fav cowboy!!!

Um hello, I'm trying to go home....moooooove. Please!
Hahaha!

Another awe-inspiring story

http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/sarawalker/mystory

I am constantly amazed at the sickness in this world. I came across this woman's story. A young mother who lost a baby at birth which triggered tests that showed stage four colon cancer. One would question the death of a child but yet thankful it led to the discovery of her cancer. How would I wrestle with that one ? OMG!! I am so thankful daily for my health and my childrens' health, etc. I just can't fathom the fear. However, the faith that this woman has is truly remarkable. Again, would I be able to have that same faith? I sure hope so.

Happenings here

Asa and I dipped pretzels

-
Then he discovered the candy sprinkles fell into the shape of a heart

Luke has been sick and the dogs are keeping him company

And lastly and thankfully, we are finished with the science fair for this year.

Noah took his project down and threw his board away before I could take a pic.

Pray for Kate

http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/mcraekate/journal

I have followed this little girl's fight with cancer for the last year or so. Such a beautiful little girl! So young and innocent to being going through something so terrible. She has endured surgeries and treatments downright tortuous!!!! And for awhile, she was cancer free and it appeared that the treatments had worked. However, now more tumors have appeared and the family is distraught. The words the little girl herself have spoken will break even the coldest of hearts. "Mommy, I don't want to die . . . I would miss you too much!" and "Daddy, why hasn't God healed me yet?" I cannot even begin to fathom the heartbreak of this mom and dad. No one, especially a child should never have through such sickness and fear.

Huggin' my babies today!!!!!
