Catch up

Long time no post and no pics to post but we suffice it to say that our life is full and we have been busy. Jimmy and Noah and Andrew have been busy in the hay field. Too busy but that's a good thing--baling hay means food in our mouths! which is always good to me, haha!

Asa spent Thursday and Friday in the hospital, suspected appendicitis but it turned out ok. He was a trouper however seems a bit traumatized now that it is over and he thinks about it. All is well now and he went back to school today.

I should be working right now so I better close and come back to this later.

Goat roping at its finest

Noah and his friend Jake held a goat roping that was the finest entertainment last Saturday night. Just a few boys have fun, doing what boys do, well atleast, country boys that is!

Bye Bye Gustav and take a hike Ike!

we survived and are getting back to normal. so happy to see that Ike is not headed our way. I don't wish it upon anyone else just wish it would totally disappear!

As I was driving south this morning, there was devastation all around. trees on houses, limbs everywhere, mounds of limbs and trash at curbs waiting to be picked up. still no power for so many.

So thankful to be safe and sound!

Long time no blog!

First day of school - Aug 1 - Luke is not dressed in his uniorm b/c he had a stomach virus without an end in sight. I am happy to report that he is well and no one else caught it. Yeah! Such a mother's dream! Everyone is settling back into the school routine nicely and I am super happy to report that we haven't been late yet! Ok, so today was only the sixth day of school, but it's a start. Sad, huh?

Jodi, Benita and I spent two Saturdays ago at Scrap N on the River in Natchez. This is a scrapbooker's dream . .. to go away for a day or more and just scrap! For those of you who don't understand, it's ok. For those of you who do, it's ok to be jealous. You can join us in Sept and in Jan when we do this again.

Joelle and I at our 20th high school reunion in July. Has it really been 20 years! That is crazy! We had a GREAT time seeing old friends.

four-wheeling it!

Asa driving and Luke and I hanging on for dear life! so much fun!

WWE & my boys

we saw this 18-wheeler outside a motel on our way to New Iberia this weekend and Andrew and Asa were in awe! I don't quite get the novelty of wrestling however I guess it is just a "boy thing." the dirver told us that they were headed to New Orleans and lucky for us, we watched it last night on tv. JImmy and I both have mixed feelings about letting the boys watch such however hearing the boys shout at the wrestler to use the "f u" move sort of confirmed our "fears." the "f u" is a move and i don't think they know what that means (at their age) however I know what it means and so that is that--no more WWE in our house! atleast not now.

it was still fun for them to get to take a pic by the trailer. cheap thrills!

Father's Day

The boys and I took Jimmy to a MS Braves game in Jackson for Father's Day. Jimmy was very surprised and we all had a great time. It was a first for all of us, to go to a minor/major league game.

It melts me heart to watch him with our boys. He really is a SUPER dad! As I watched him throwing to ball on the field with the boys, I realized just how lucky they are . . . to have a father who loves them, plays with them, teaches them by example on how to live life, a father who loves God and is showing them by example how to live for Him. And I realized how lucky I am that the father of MY children is all of that.

Happy Father's Day Jimmy. We love you!

P.S. Who is that skinny man?

Beach Trip

The boys and I along with my sis and her two boys, went to the beach last week. We had a blast! I am truly a beach person. could live there. it's a little hard to relax while playing lifeguard to six boys, but I still enjoyed it. We took a day trip to Pensacola to the Naval Air Museum. It was fanstastic!!!!!!!! I am hoping we can go back again this summer and take Jimmy with us this time.

We are the Champions!

So cool! Andrew and Asa's team won the league championship last night! this was a long time coming for our family. For the past 5 or 6 years, one the boys' teams has been in the running for the championship and it has come down to the last game and we have lost. so this was super special for us! Asa had another super game. He has complained all season about playing outfield and no matter what we have said to boost him up, he just has not been happy out there. However, last night, just like the last game, he has caught a super fly ball for an out, making the whole ballpark roar, and also hitting a super ball to the outfield, getting a triple with the bases loaded! Awesome for an 8 year-old playing on a 9 and 10 year old team. So he got the game ball for the third time this season!!!!!!! can you just see the grin on "Smiley's" face? it was pretty big last night. Both boys made all-stars, different teams. so we will be busy the whole month of june. thankfully, asa's tournament will be here. andrew's will be in Walthall County.

we are headed to the beach next week for a much needed R&R.

we are having a super summer so far!
